Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Exhibits: One Bus; one Van Body ; one 20-cwt. Van.

This company sells the " Gloverley " motor vehicles, and has staged a 12-I 411.p. vehicle, and a it3-20h.p. 3ocwt. van. The former is fitted with a single-deck omnibus body, built to the order of Messrs. Debenham and Freebody, for the use of their commercial travellers. The latter is fitted with a covered body, for delivery-van work, and is of ample strength to carry two tons if required. .

The details of the two chassis are similar, differing only in dimensions, so that one description will suffice for both. Two-cylinder Aster engines are fitted, with valves on opposite sides, and high-tension accumulator ignition. The clutch is of the reversed cone type, and the gear-box is suspended in the centre of the chassis, the final drive being by side chains from sprakets on the differential countershaft. Three forward speeds are provided, operated by one lever, and a reverse operated by -a separate lever. The gears are unusually strong and wide, and evidently designed to withstand hard and con

tinuous work. The bevel pinion and crown wheel, and the differential, are enclosed in the same casing with the change-speed gears, and ball bearings, both for thrust and weight carrying, are employed throughout.

The frames are made of pressed steel, with strong lateral bracing, and long resilient springs are provided. Solid tires are fitted to the larger van, and pneumatic tires to the commercial omnibus, but this detail is entirely a question of the particular customer's requirements. The chassis shows that careful thought has been bestowed on each detail of the design, and the result is a very satisfactory workmanlike vehicle. The chassis is made throughout at the company's establishment in Bury St. Edmund's, with the exception of the engine, and it is worth a reminder that its central depot and garage, at Mount Pleasant, E.C., is now in full swing and well equipped. Users of the Gloverley vans for I-ton to 2-ton loads report that they yield good returns upon the outlay involved,
