MAN’s TopUsed is selling seven military-spec vehicles through tender, to ensure they are sold to customers with good repute

Words: Will Shiers

MAN’S TOPUSED operation is having trouble shifting its latest batch of specialist off-road, high-quality used multiwheelers. It’s not a case that nobody wants to buy them, it’s more a case of ensuring that the right people buy them.

The seven vehicles are the demo trucks that helped MAN win its MoD contract. As they are built to military specification, MAN has to be careful where they end up.

“The plan was to sell them at auction, but we need to be sure about who buys them,” says Rael Winetroube, sales director, MAN TopUsed. “Because they are military spec they are classed as weapons.” MAN will be asking buyers to tender for them. “They need to prove they are of good repute and must be able to give us an indemnity of where the trucks will end up,” says Winetroube.

The trucks are five-years-old, and are a mix of 8x8s and 6x6s. Bodies include wreckers, flatbeds and a chassis cab. Interested parties should contact andy.holliday@man.eu or call 07803 975508 ■
