MR. A. R. PALMER, managing director of the Northern Diecasting Co., Ltd., has retired, DR. FRANCIS C. Toy has joined Small and Parkes, Ltd., Manchester, in an advisory capacity, MR. B. BURGESS has become traffic manager of Silverdale Co-operative Society. He was formerly chief mechanic.
MR. -W. E. JENKINS has succeeded MR. L. H. DAVIES as a director of the A.P.V. CO., Ltd. MR. G. SELIGMAN has also left the board.
MR. E. ROBERTS, traffic manager of Crosville Motor Services, Ltd., Chester, has, in addition, been appointed assistant general manager of the company.
MR. G. A. C. HANDS, of Halifax Corporation, has been appointed passenger transport manager of Pietermaritzburg Municipality, South Africa.
Mat. B. G. BONALLACK, joint managing director of Bonallack and Sons, Ltd., has been elected vice-president of the National Federation of Vehicle Traders.
MR. F. DAVENPORT, assistant to Mr. Harry Willshaw, Dunlop's chief engineer, has been appointed deputy chief engineer at the head office in London.
MR.. T. W. H. GAMEY, traffic manager of the Bristol Omnibus Co., Ltd., and other companies in that group, has, in addition, been appointed assistant general manager.
MR. R. G. SWAIN, former secretary of the Yorkshire (Hull and East Riding) Division of the Traders' Road Transport Association, has been made a presentation by MR. F. E. HILTON, chairman. MR. R. CHIVERS has been elected chairman of the Devizes Sub-area of the Road Haulage Association. The vice-chairman is MR. H. PEARCE, and the honorary secretary MR. H. H. SNELGROVE, MR. R. J. ELLERY ha S succeeded MR. P. G. STONE CLARK as a director of Maidstone and District Motor Services, Ltd. Mr. Stone Clark has retired. MR. W. M. DRAVERS has succeeded Mr. Stone Clark on the board of the South Wales Transport Co., Ltd.
MR. V. E. GOUGH, manager of the performance section of the development division of the Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd., has been awarded the CromptonLanchester medal of the Automobile Division of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers for the 1955-56 session. He shares the award with Ma. G. R. SHEARER, of the company's tyre design division. They were co-authors of a paper on front suspension and tyre wear.
