Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I CAN’T BELIEVE that 242 diabetic drivers had their licences revoked in the past three years (CM 23 June).

People with diabetes who are driving should not get low blood sugar, because if they monitor their sugar intake properly, and eat when they should, there is no problem. Diabetics are just as safe as any lorry driver.

Even if one did get low blood sugar, they would feel it coming on, so they could quickly get a chocolate or sandwich when it’s safe to stop: it’s that simple.

Diabetics should not really be restricted. As long as they are doing things right and the doctors say everything is ok, I think they should be able to drive anything. O.W Via email
