According to figures from the Society of Motor Ma nufactur ers and Traders, registrations of four-axle rigids increased by 681% to 985 units in the year to June compared to the same time last year.

And registrations of threeaxle rigids were boosted by 55.8% to 1,097 trucks in the same period.

Total registrations of trucks and artics is also improving, with June registrations jumping 22.8% from 2,933 to 3,602, compared to the same month last year. Total year-to-date figures improved by 22.7% over last year to 19,705 units for the corresponding period.
