Film producers tracked down 30-year-old Ramskill, who works as a fleet engineer administrator at Linkman Tankers in Bury. Lancashire, through Ilona Richards, the founder of the Lady Truckers Club.
They told Richards they wanted a pretty elfin-like young lady trucker to fill-in for truck driving scenes, for one of the leading women who hitches a lift from a truck driver. Ramskiil will be a double for Amanda Plummer, known for her role in The Fisher King as Robin Williams' girlfriend.
But she is not shy of acting, she has already appeared in a National Tyres advert. And she relishes the chance to get behind the wheel of a truck. Until March 1993 she supplemented a secretarial job with weekend truck driving. At Linkman, where she has worked for four months, she drives trucks to cover for drivers who are off sick,
