Ford operators in Kent must be fighting to have their vehicles serviced by Haynes of Maidstone. The company has sponsored the Ford Truck Registered Technician of the Year for three consecutive years.
Michael Pethers won the coveted title in 1982 and 1983 but was overtaken this year by 30-year-old Keith Kirby, who has worked for Haynes for nine years and has been a district finalist in the national competition four times. His efforts won him trophies and cheques worth £850, which were presented to him by Keith Prickett, Ford's director of customer service.
