THE WEST Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive has appointed a coaching manager to its operations section.

He is David Freeman, who has joined West Yorkshire PTE after serving 20 years in the coaching business. Mr Freeman started as a schedules compiler with National Bus Company's, Eastern National at Southend, and was later appointed personal assistant to the general manager at National Travel South East, Kings Cross.

He then moved to Catford as excursions superintendent, responsible for a 100,000 seat excursion programme, for the south east and central London. Later he was promoted to group travel manager. In 1980 he moved to the Tourmaster Company where he was general manager of the Stevenage unit, known as North Star Travel.

He will be responsible for the development of all coaching activities, including those based in Leeds, Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees and of the coaching subsidiary, W A & P Bingley of Kingsley.
