• Mr R. R. Jackson, the present South Wales Licensing Authority and chairman of the Traffic Commissioners in the area, has in addition been appointed Licensing Authority and chairman of the Traffic Commissioners of the West Midland traffic area. Mr Jackson takes up his appointment on August 1 and succeeds Mr John Else, who is to take over the post of chairman of the Industrial Tribunal for Birmingham.
Mr. Jackson is the first LA to have two traffic areas in his charge at the same time but it is understood that the appointment is regarded only as an interim measure until the local government reorganization takes place in April 1974. By that time it is expected that some Traffic Area boundaries will have been altered.
