IN both London and Glasgow, moves are being made towards control of traffic by corn puler.
A member of the University of Strathclyde, which is co-operating with the Road Research Laboratory and Glasgow Corporation on computer-control of traffic lights in the city centre, is shortly to visit Germany to study methods used there.
Meanwhile, traffic signals at intersections in the Holborn/Clerkenwell area of central London are to be linked by land-line with a computer in Birmingham University to see if traffic flow can be speeded and jams reduced.
