DURING last year there was an overall increase of 40,000 (2.4 per cent) in the number of goods vehicles being used in Great Britain compared to 1973. The largest rise was 42,000 vehicles (four per cent) in the under 1.5 ton category. Although there was an increase in the number of vehicles in the 1.5 to three ton category — 3,000(1.5 per cent) over 1973 — there was a decrease of 5,000(1.2 per cent) in the over three ton division.
