EXPORTS of British commercial vehicles to the original six countries of the EEC from 1970 to the end of 1974 rose by 183 per cent compared with an increase of 24 per cent to the rest of the world.

Commercial vehicle exports were up from 38 per cent of total production in 1973 to 42 per cent in 1974. These figures were revealed by Gilbert Hunt deputy president of SMMT and chairman of Chrysler UK, in Amsterdam on the eve of the Amsterdam Motor Show.
