t— Sapphire Coaches—has taken delivery of seven Plaxton-bodied coaches ranging from 20to 52-seaters, all equipped with individual passenger ventilation. Special panels equipped with fluorescent lighting have been provided on the sides of these vehicles to advertise the company for which the coaches are operated, on hire, by Sapphire.
Amongst other numerous Plaxton orders recently completed was one from Wallace Arnold Tours Ltd. for 30 coaches c-12 on A.E.C., Leyland and Bedford VAL chassis. These coaches are equipped with Ptaxton's new patent adjustable seat strips, which allow variation of the opera tor's seating plan in the coach, as desired.
Reavengined Buses for Shields? South Shields Corporation transport committee, which has previously standardized on 63-seat rear-entrance double-deckers on Daimler or Guy chassis, is considering the possibility of introducing rear-enginedt maximum capacity vehicles. Tenders are being invited for seven vehicles of this type;
