Generators for U.K.

BRITOVER (CONTINENTAL) LTD., 13 Belsize Lane, London, N.W.3, has become the sole concessionnaire for French Paris-Rhone alternators, dynamos and starter motors, and the equipment will be available generally throughout Britain through the concessionnaire, both to vehicle manufacturers and to individual customers. Autocar, Marine and Diesel Co. Ltd., 15 Stonehouse Street, London, S.W.4, will remain sole spares and service agent for Paris-Rhone equipment on imported vehicles.

Paris-RhOne is the oldest French company in the field of automotive electrics and Britover, already sole concessionnaire for Cibie lamps, intends to concentrate on alternator sales in particular. Two commercial-vehicle models will be handled; the A16R for 24V systems, which gives 50 amp at 2,300 r.p.m. (cold), has a cut-in speed of 900 r.p.m. and a maximum speed of 7,500 r.p.m.; and the Al3R for 12V systems, which gives 30 amp at 2,300 r.p.m. (warm), has a cut-in speed of 900 r.p.m. and a maximum speed of 12,000 r.p.m. The A16R has an overall length of approximately 8-7 in. and a diameter of 6.4 in., whilst the Al3R is approximately 6.25-in. long, with a diameter of 50 in. In both cases silicondiode rectifiers are integral with the generators, and either transistorized or vibrator-type control gear will be offered.
