An Insecure Lorry WHILE on a business trip Bonnet that Became " through West Bromwich

Airborne recently we had a narrow escape from the bonnet of a lorry. We were approaching the vehicle when a strong gust of wind lifted the bonnet into the air, to deposit it right in our track. Help the Industry's nNE of the most useful bod Benevolent Fund to ies in our industry is the Help You Motor and Cycle Trades Benevolent Fund, of which the president is Sir George Kenning. The Fund does a tremendous amount of good work, and there is nothing it will not do to assist those in our industry and their dependents who,-through no fault of their .own, 'meet with adversity or difficulty of any kind which is not adequately covered by any State insur ance or pension scheme. Some Interesting

Points on New Daimr'chassis now have an inter ALL D a im 1 e r passenger esting new frame construction.

Instead of the familiar process of fitting an extra strengthening channel within the front portion of each side member, a deeper channel is mounted over the main member to form a box section, and this is bolted into position, so giving a degree of flexibility. In some models, this box section stops well in front of the separate gearbox, hut in long-wheelbase types it is extended as far as the box. Other features are that all the shackle pins are standard, so that they will fit anywhere, whilst they are grooved at each side for the securing bolt and thus can be turned over when worn. Unless specially required otherwise, the dynamo is driven off the first propeller shaft by a triple V belt, being carried on the gearbox casing. The housing is

hinged for easy adjustment. In this position the dynamo is removed from the bad influences of oil fuel and heat, whilst when dealing simultaneously with engine and dynamo, the workers are separated and thus do not impede one another.
