Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Having read your article in CommorcialMotor on recruitment (CM16-22 Nov) I thought I would let you know of my experience as a novice in the haulage business.

In November last year decided it was time for a career change, so I thought I would train to be an HGV driver, which was something I had always thought about doing.

So I went through the process of obtaining my licence; five months and £1,500 down the line I was ready, willing and able. BUT: "Do you

have two years' experience?" they all asked; and when they found I had none they were not interested.

I have been trying since April to get a job driving, but no wants me until I have the magic two years.

I even asked a couple of times how they expected new drivers to gain the relevant experience. On both occasions I was told: "Not my problem, mate."

I therefore suggest this may be part of the problem, rather than the financial ones.
