• Schmitz Cargobull of Harelaw has delivered twenty 13.6m temperature-controlled trailers to Turners of Southam. Eight have dual compartments for frozen/chilled separation with movable bulkheads; the rest have a single loadspace.
Three-point temperature sensing is used on the singlecompartment trailers and four on the dual.
Refrigeration/chilling is provided by a mixture of Thermoking or Carrier units and they are all fitted with BPIAT running gear.
Li Schmitz Cargobull has reorganised its UK reefer supply system by appointing JC Payne
as its Fen-oplast-panelled rigid body fitting agent.
The West Midlands-based firm operates from a £2.5m factory in Walsall and currently produces 25 dry freight and refrigerated vehicles a week.
In addition to mounting, equipping and liverying the preassembled boxes, JCP becomes the service and repair agent for all Schmitz trailers and rigids throughout the Midlands.
The move means the closure of Schmitz' Blantyre, Scotland rigid body assembly plant.
Glasgow truck and trailer repair and maintenance specialist Cohn Hutton is taking over its aftermarket responsibilities.
