Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

We are now informed that Weymouth's public transport service is not big enough to induce the " K.P.L." interests to participate.

At a. meeting of the Newcastle City Council held last week It was decided that four motorbuses should be purchased at a cost of £826 each. It is anticipated that these machines will be delivered by Easter next.

Imprisonment for Breakdown.

At Lochee, near Dundee, a few days ago, an omnibus proprietor was fined 30s., or an alternative of 20 days' imprisonment, for failing to run his motor omnibuses for 10 days during November. The defendant stated that the machines had broken down and it would hisvi been too costly to put horses on the journey.

From the Circus to Victoria Especially.

"We continue to receive suggestions from our readers to the effect that we should use our influence to obtain an increase in the service of motorbuses between Piccadilly and Victoria, and also to inaugurate new services between Waterloo and Liverpool Street, via the Strand, and between Swiss Cottage and London Bridge via Camden Town.

More Companies in Preparation.

The success of the E.O.O.C., as we have forecasted more than once, is fostering the promotion spirit. New promoters, we feel sure, will be upset to find that matters of flotations, or projected flotations, never go the same way twice, and the difficulties of underwriting are likely to prove considerable in some of the instances where fresh compa.nies are contemplated. A scheme of the British Electric Traction Co. asopears to be most advanced, but we do not exactly follow why Charron vehicles are mentioned in this connection, for we are without any exact information as to the experience of the Cha.rron engineers on the motorbus side of construction. It may, of course, be considerable.

We do not enter into any details of the several proposals in ques

tion, but we may generally state our view that any new company, if reasonably financed and managed, will be able to live side by side with the L.G.O.C., once it gets its capital together. The strongest point in favour of the suggested agreement between the Underground Railways and the L.G.O.C., is that the announcement of the completion of such ass agreement would materially prejudice the formation of new companies. We happen to know that this factor in the situation is thoroughly well realized by all the interested Boards.
