Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• ERF has started to deliver Western Star Commander tractors to Australia for use as artics and B-double roadtrains.

The latest batch comprises three tractors for Queenslandhased Trans Pacific Industries; the 6x4 tractors have 330hp Cummins MI1 engines, 10speed Eaton gearboxes and air suspended double-drive bogies. These vehicles will seem familiar to any ERF user; they have a conventional EC-type cab with air conditioning. Only the logo on the front is different.

Other units come with twin circular headlamps and a chrome-trimmed grille. These are typical Australian-spec machines, with similar running gear to their main competitor, Kenworth's KlOOG: Cummins' N14E engine with the Jacobstype C-brake; Cyclopac air cleaners; Rockwell drive axles; Eaton 18-speed gearboxes, and 900-litre fuel tanks.

Other engines on offer include the Detroit Diesel Series 60 and the Caterpillar 3406E.

The biggest difference from ERF models is a set-forward front axle to comply with Australian loading regulations.
