Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Keywords : Boris, Shame, London

IT’S ALL VERY well Mayor of London Boris Johnson launching a van exchange scheme (CM 7 April), but what about helping out the rest of the haulage industry?

Boris seems to think he is ‘Knight of the Roads’ . However, what I say to him is: don’t forget the small haulage companies with all the Euro-3 engines.

You should back them as well as recognising the DCs that also fall within the congestion zone.

A number of cash and carry emporiums that fall within the stealth London tax zone rob our struggling industry even more.

Our option now is not to deliver to them, which is a shame as last year alone we took 1,276 trailers into London between March 2010 and Feb 2011, each averaging at 25.3 tonnes per trailer, and they were all full of bottled mineral water. It’s a real shame, but we no longer think it’s worthwhile to deliver into London.
