Montgomery Transport is Northern Ireland's largest haulage outfit; it is owned through holding company Ballyvesey Holdings.
According to its latest accounts, in 2003 Ballyvesey Holdings lost Ulm on a turnover of £207m, following a £2.1m profit the previous year.
The shareholders in Ballyvesey Holdings are Harold Montgomery and his wife, Noreen.
Montgomery Transport reported a loss of .€20n for 2003 on a turnover of .f.36m. compared with a £450,000 profit the previous year on a turnover of£.31.5m. MontgomeryTransport runs a fleet of 170 trucks and more than 900 trailer& Ballyvesey also controls road transport companies Montgomery TankServices and Montgomery Refrigerated and trailer manufacturer Montracon.It has interests in transport services and construction equipment.
