From tyres to trailers, blind spots to body design, there were plenty of new ideas to be seen at this year's CV Show.

/t's simple and effective and takes out the blind spot down the nearside of an articulated truck. TurnSafe, which is fully automated, has been developed by AVR Automotive and works by placing a Kodak Image Sensor on top of the main mirror. To help prolong the life and condition of fridge boxes, GRP Westbury has come up with two new innovations. By double capping around the perimeter of the body. the company is able to replace the edges with an outer cover clipped onto an inner rail, bonded to the body to help maintain the condition of the exterior. This reduces downtime for what is an accident hot-spot on fridge bodies. To help maintain the ease of opening the rear doors and protect the rubber seal, the company has modified the interior to incorporate a small slope. It has also angled the edge of the nearside rear door away from the centre door so it opens at an angle. The Euro Cycler from Heil has had a tub and wheelie bin side loading capacity added to create a two-stream semi-automated recycling vehicle for paper and other items. There are two separate loading compartments with two ejection points at the rear of the body. It is an American design that has been well received here in the UK with RU Recycling in Blackburn taking the first.
