Mr. J. Lawson, who has for some years held the position of traffic manager with the South Lancashire Transport Co., has been appointed traffic manager to Rotherham Corporation.

'Me directors of Humber, Ltd., have agreed that as from April 1, Mr. N. M. Wishart will be technical engineer to the company, instead of assistant technical engineer. We have known Mr. Wishart for many years, and would like to convey our congratulations to him on his new appointment.

Mr. Alvin E. Loe has been appointed sales manager of the Val d'Or electric drill department of E. L. Yeungleson, Ltd. Mr. Loe is well known throughout the trade for his knowledge of electric drills, and he will also be handling im-portant items of garage equipment, etc.

We are informed that Mr. H. Clayton-Wright has resigned from the Laycock Engineering Co., in order to take up another appointment. Mr. W. G. Pallett, general manager, will maintain • the connection of the company with those members of the trade who previously dealt with Mr. Clayton-Wright, Mr. T. It. Whitehead, who recently retired from the position of manager of • the passenger-transport undertaking of Coventry Corporation, has been presented with an illuminated address. The Mayor, Councillor 0. M. Film, who presided, drew attention to the good work carried out by Mr. Whitehead, and said that when he first joined the Coventry undertaking it operated seven open-top vehicles, whereas to-day it has 125 vehicles running over 60 niiles of route. Mr. R. A. Fearniey has succeeded Mr. Whitehead.

. Mr. Harry Clark, of Derby, is in charge of No. 1 Division, which includes Scotland, the industrial North. of England and the East-Midland counties. Mr. Clark has had considerable experience in national organizing work, having been connected with the National Chamber of Trade and Chambers of Commerce. In regard to the latter, he was responsible • Mr. G. Oglesby, divisional organizes for the R.H.A.. in the Western Counties and Wales, has had extensive and varied business experience, having been trained as a merchant banker and served several years in India in that capacity ; later he was engaged in trading in West Africa. In both India and Africa be was closely concerned with road transport.

Mr. Oglesby acted as secretary of the Short Distance Hauliers' Alliance, which was formed, as regular readers will remember, about two years ago, and transferred to the R.H.A. when the two bodies amalgamated. Since then he has worked mainly for the organization of the. London district.

Mr. P. 3. Authers, organizer of the Eastern Counties and London, was for many years concerned in cycle manufacture, and commenced organizing work with the Road Haulage Association in October, 1932. He was drafted to the South-Eastern. Traffic Area, subsequently moving to the Southern and, later, to the Eastern Traffic Area.
