DIESEL SPILLS ARE a clear and present danger, especially to motorcyclists. Department for Transport statistics show that diesel spills were responsible for 16 deaths and 3,000 serious accidents between 2000 and 2004.
These spills are caused by: overfilling fuel tanks; failing to refit the filler cap correctly; damage to the filler neck; or worn seals.
