PRELIMINARY figures for January to August show that Volvo Trucks (Great Britain) Ltd has increased its market share despite the shrinking market during 1980.
For the first seven months of 1979, market share increased for artics over 28 tons from 18.9 per cent to 19.3 per cent. Volvo eight wheelers took 18.8 per cent of the market compared to 13.7 per cent during January to August 1979.
The Volvo F6 16-toriner is now taking a 5.5 per cent market share since its introduction to the UK market in the Spring. SMMT figures for commercial vehicle sales are expected in full during the next week.
