WHILST patriotic thoughts and motives are to be applauded, is not the current hiatus and emotion created by the proposed importation of heavy Hino vehicles somewhat inconsistent, when the relative high number of European makers are holding the UK market.

Whilst Leyland Vehicles Ltd have in the past and do at the present time make a very fine product in the heavy vehicle field, if they are not in a position to compete with the opposition then pressure should be exerted on the unions to co-operate by a more patriotic approach and way of thought of their workforce.
