I REFER to Bill Brock's excellent article on the new Dennison tipper chassis in Commercial Motor, August 16.
While the test analysis was most informative I wish to draw your attention to an error in the reference to the Hydro Hoist tipping gear.
Hydro Hoist Ltd is the manufacturer of all Hydro Hoist equipment and the company was set up as a joint venture between Edbro (Holdings) Ltd and Thomas Thompson of Carlow, Eire.
This arrangement meant that Thompsons discontinued the manufacture of tipping gears but continued in business as an independent body builder and tipping-gear distributor. I feel that all the parties concerned would appreciate a correction.
