THE Ministry of Transport has I now replied to the Road Haulage Association's request for a vehicle noise demonstration.
The Ministry says it will be pleased to provide a vehicle noise meter, but not vehicles, for demonstration purposes, and the Ministry's letter then goes on to say that the results which the R.H.A. was likely to obtain would not be expected to differ from those published in The Commercial Ji/lotor of August 9.
Accepting the meter offer, the R.H.A. highways and vehicles committee is to stage a roadside test on October 1 before commenting on the noise levels proposed.
