conference, at the Grand Hotel, Brighton, October 3-5, have now been sold. Forward-looking Paper for R.H.A. Conference "TAKING transport into the 1970s" will be the theme of a paper to be read at one of the three business sessions of the Road Haulage Association Conference at Brighton in October. It will be presented by Mr. F. C. Margetts, member of the British Railways Board responsible for operations and planning.

This paper will be read on the afternoon of Tuesday, October 22, at the conference headquarters, the Grand Hotel, where Tuesday morning's business session will take the form of a discussion on one or more selected resolutions introduced by the Association's national chairman, Mr. D. 0. Good.

The third and last business session will be on Wednesday morning, a brains trust in which one member of the panel will be the R.H.A.'s legal adviser, Mr. H. Norman Letts, and it is hoped that he will be accompanied by a representative of each of the three main political parties.

Social arrangements will include an informal reception at the Grand Hotel on October 21, a reception by the Mayor of Brighton on October 22 and the banquet and ball on October 23.
