EDDIE STOBART'S successful turnaround (CM 6 October) will be further boosted now it is in the final stages of signing a contract for distribution fromTesco's Crick site, Andrew Tinkler, chairman of the Stobart's parent, WA Developments, says the .E30m contract could start as soon as November. It is worth about twice as much as Stobart's distribution deal with Tesco's Chesterfield depot.

Tinkler adds: "We haven't got it written down, but it's very close. You never know until you have it signed." He adds that the firm is also on the verge of renewing its contracts with paperboard firm Knauf and Nestle Purina.
