Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ANOTHER EEC initiative aimed at making coach travel safer is on the way. The Commission has been asked to make it an offence for drivers to give running commentaries to their passengers while at the wheel.

In a question to the Commission, British MEP Ben Patterson suggested that coach drivers who are also required to conduct a guided tour over the microphone while driving may constitute a road hazard.

He says there is a particular danger when driving through heavy traffic in cities where concentration is vital.

According to Mr Patterson, these commentaries are an increasingly common practice in Britain, and he wonders whether they are banned in other EEC countries.

EEC Transport Commissioner Giorgios Kontogeorgis replied that he considers such commentaries as "potentially dangerous" and Brussels will consider the need to take measures after making inquiries in national capitals.
