SOUTHDOWN Motor Services is the latest National Bus operator to reorganise its central engineering workshop into a separately accountable unit.
Southdown Engineering Services has been established at Portslade in East Sussex and it plans to expand its range of vehicle maintenance, repair, testing and conversion services commercially to outside organisations as well as the Southdown and other NBC subsidiary fleets.
The unit is managed by Alan Southern who has been managing the works since 1980. Be-fore this, he was production director with Willowbrook at Loughborough.
