A suggestion that the cotton industry should establish a central warehouse for cotton goods, similar to the bonded warehouses which deal with tea and tobacccf, has been put forward by Mr. W.• E. Macve, transport manager of the Bleachers Association, Ltd.

An enormous amount of waste, in the form of unnecessary transport charges, is at present being borne by the industry, states Mr. Maeve, and; in passing to and fro between the manufacturer, agent, merchant, packer and finisher, cloth may make as many as eight journeys between the yarn stage and the final delivery.

A eentral warehouse in a convenient location would eliminate the need for much transport, and handling would be reduced to a. minimum.
