Reference was made at a sitting of the North Western Licensing Authority last week to a case loran extra vehicle. heard on September 29, in which no decision had been announced, although a competitor's application, heard on the same day, had bee.n granted. Mr. H. Backhouse pointed out that it was not safe to buy the new vehicle until authority was given yet makers were needing five or six months to deliver.

The Authority replied that the case might have been one of great difficulty, but he would see Sir William Hart (Deputy Licensing Authority) within the week and decision would be notified at once.
