I NTERESTING figures were quoted

at the 10th annual staff dinner of Crosville Motor Services, Ltd. It was stated that the company employed 3,500 men and operated 950 vehicles, which travelled 31,000,000 miles a year, and carried 81,000,000 passengers.

Mr. W. j. C. Taylor, managing director, said that each passenger rode for an average of three miles, and on an average each bus carried eight passengers throughout a. 16-hour day. The amount of petrol and oil fuel used during the year was 3,750,009 gallons and 80,000 gallons of lubricating oil, The company had 104 new. vehicles

now on order. • Near Flint there was going to be a new garage of the latest type, extensions at Crewe were nearly completed, whilst extra land had been acquired at Caernarvon, where there would be first-class premises. Mr. C. S. Percy. (Leyland Motors, Ltd.) commented that the passengertransport side of the industry was much better arranged and run than the goods department.

DUNFERMLINE OFFER ACCEPTED.

DUNFER.MLINE Town Council has finally accepted the offer by Dunfermline and District Tramway Co. for lifting the tram tracks and reinstating the roads. Fife County Council has also accepted. The offer of £11,824 is half the estimated cost of the work to the county and borough.
