There's less than a week to go before the UK's biggest tipper show at Milton Keynes. Here we give you the lowdown on what to see inside The truckzone...

The truckzone, hosted by Commercial Motor, is a dedicated area of the giant SED Show focused on commercial vehicles. Visitors to this star attraction will be able to see the latest 4x4s from Ford, Mitsubishi, Nissan and Santana given a thorough workout in their own dedicated demo areas, and Commercial Motor is also staging Tipper Live!, an area where exhibitors in the zone will have the opportunity to show the crowds what their products can do. The trucks

Arguably the biggest news on the truck front comes from MAN/ERF which will be exhibiting, for the first time, a fully bodied example of the TGA construction range. The new eight-wheeler tipper, powered by the recently unveiled D20 engine, is reckoned to be 230kg lighter than its predecessor.

Despite initial announcements to the contrary Scania may yet give its new R-Series a trade show debut inThe truckzone, while fellow Swedish manufacturer Volvo is to unveil a number of construction-specific modifications to its FM rigid line-up at the three-day exhibition.

Iveco has the biggest stand in this year's truckzone and its area will be broken into four sectors covering trucks, vans, used vehicles and Seddon Atkinson. Daf is back in The truckzone after an absence of a year and will be showing its range of chassis-cabs.

Like Iveco,RenaultTrucks has been a regular in The truckzone since its inception three years ago. This year it will be exhibiting its revamped and lighter Kerax.

Isuzu and Hino dealership Valley Trucks will be at SED with two Isuzu NKR vehicles with a dropside and lightweight tipper body and an 8x4 Hino with a steel body. The vans

Ford reported good business at last year's SED and is back again this year showing seven vehicles from its extensive range. Isuzu is a truckzone newcomer; it will be displaying its new Rodeo pickup which claims a tax friendly payload of 1,000kg.

Mitsubishi will be displaying its 4WORK range. Exhibits will include the L200 Club Cab, which combines a 1.83m loadbed with seating for four people.

Nissan now offers a comprehensive range of CVs up to 3.5 tonnes and they'll all be in The truckzone, from the compact Kubistar and midlevel Primastar to the updated Interstar. In addition, check out the Terrano van and the Navaro pickup. Renault Vans, which shares product with Vauxhall and Nissan, will be exhibiting its well established Trafic and Master vans.

Imported exclusively by Fourtec, the Santana PS10 is a rugged off/on-road vehicle with a one-tonne payload. Also on display will be the Bremach 4x4. Like Santana,Tata is steadily carving out a niche and its line-up will include the new 4x4 Safari seven-seater with standard or luxury EX spec.

Toyota is the first manufacturer in the UK to offer its entire CV range with ABS and a driver's airbag as standard. Show models will include two derivatives of the Dyna and a Hilux, all powered by D-4D common-rail turbo-diesel engines.

With a growing market share and a comprehensive range of CVs up to 3.5 tonnes,Vauxhall is not short of models. This year's display will include the latest Movano alongside Sportive versions of the Astravan and Vivaro.

Volkswagen completes the van line-up at SED; it will have its Transporter, the current International Van of the Year, and the new Caddy van on display. The bodybuilders

A tipper truck chassis is useless without the body or trailer behind it and this year sees a huge complement of specialist bodybuilders exhibiting in The truckzone. Bateson Trailers is a well-known manufacturer of lightweight trailers; on display will be a selection from its range including a mini excavator trailer.

Crane Fruehauf has been through a tough time during the past five years, but now it appears to be building an independent future once again. In The truckzone Crane Fruehauf will be exhibiting two examples of its range of construction-specific products.

Cyncro and tipping gear specialist Harsh are sharing stands at this year's event. Cyncro is a relative newcomer to the bodybuilding ranks — the Hampshire company will be exhibiting three chassis equipped with its bodies and Harsh tipping gear. West Midlands-based EuroEjectors will have its new Half Pipe ejection trailers at the show.

Following a promising show last year Hyva is back this yearAThompson Charlton tipper body will take pride of place on the its stand; the company will also show aTfent body equipped with a crane and its own underfloor gear.

Moffett-Kooi launched a new machine at the CV Show; it will be on display at Milton Keynes and is expected to make an appearance in the Tipper Live! demonstration area.

The Thompson Charlton Group is keen to push its plant bodies and the company will have a new beavertail body on an Iveco 6x2 truck chassis on display. Best known for its industry-leading sheeting systems, Transcover has recently taken on the distributorship in the south of England for a number of northernbased bodybuilders. Transcover displayed a range of the new bodies at the recent CV Show and will do the same in The truckzone.

Tipper Live!

Directly opposite the CM stand you'll find Tipper Live!, a demonstration area featuring construction and 4x4 chassis in action throughout the three show days. The demo sessions will kick off at 9.30am each day, repeating every hour on the half hour.

CM editor-in-chief Brian Weatherley will be on the microphone delivering all the facts and figures on every participating vehicle.

As you'd expect all the big names will be present, with tippers and 4x4s at work from Daf, Iveco, Volkswagen and Tata to name but a few. Stand by to be entertained at SED where the truck action is definitely 'live'. Commercial Motor

While you're in The truckzone be sure to drop in at the CM stand. If you're coming on day one you'll be able to take part in the Racing Challenge, a special truck-mounted grand prix arcade game. Fastest lap on the day will win some Ferrari Formula 1 goodies provided by Italian truck builder Iveco.

One days two and three visitors can test there remote controlled skills courtesy of model truck builder Tamiya. Alternatively, just drop in and meet the CM team.
