Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A STOKE-on-Trent truck driver has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving following the death of a cyclist last August. The 35-year-old has also been charged with perverting the course of justice. Off-duty policeman John Needham was taking part in a cycling time trial on the A50 between Uttoxeter and Doveridge on 3 August 2003 when he was hit from

behind and run over by the truck.

Five other people have also been charged in connection with his death: a 36-year-old company director from Ashbourne and a 20-year-old woman from Stokeon-Trent have been charged with manslaughter, conspiracy to pervert the course of justice and two counts of possession of a controlled drug. Two truck drivers and a student,

all from Stoke-on-Trent, have been charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

DS John Briggs of Derbyshire police, senior investigating officer for Operation Jaguar says: "The charges come following lengthy inquires into the case and careful consideration by the council and Crown Prosecution Service."

All six will appear in Derby Magistrates' Court next month.
