Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A DEVICE to assist in bkcding r. hydraulic brakes, and a tappet adjuster for use with overhead-valve engines, have been added to the range of service tools produced by Harmans Engineering Co., Yelland, Fremington, Barnstaple, Devon.

The idea behind the brake device is that the operative, after clamping it in position on the steering column with the brake-pedal pad correctly located, can operate the brake pedal by a remote control. This consists of a Bowden cable connected to a lever which can be. moved round to each wheel in turn.

Apart from the saving in time, only one operator is required and after fit ting the device to the column he has no need to enter the vehicle until the job has been completed.

The tappet adjuster provides for carrying out the work while the engine is running. A socket wrench, which the device is designed to accommodate, takes care of the lock-nut while the screwdriver bit built into the tool adjusts the set-screw.

A knurled extension handle enables the operative to hold the tool firmly while making the adjustment.
