• Uniroyal Englebert Tyres of Newbridge, Midlothian, has changed its name to Continental Tyres. The company, which was first established in 1856 as the North British Rubber Company. is part of Continental Ag, the German tyre manufacturer.
New Superferry
• Stena Line has named its new superferry, which will enter service between Harwich and the Hook of
I folland this summer, the Steno Discovery. The twinhulled craft, which sails at twice the speed of conventional ships, is due to enter service on 2 June, cutting crossing times by 3hr 40min. It has space for 50 trucks Contact: 01233 622558.
