FOR MAFEKING: 'The town of Ma/eking has ordered a Dennis Fax V 14-ton sixwheeler chassis to he fitted with a 2,000-gal. cesspool emptying tank,

DENNIS PANTECHNICONS: Dennis Brothers Ltd. has received orders for six Pax long-wheelbase pantechnicons. Four Pax V models will be supplied to Hygena Cabinets and Pilot Transport has placed a repeat order for two Fax HA models.

DENNIS FIRE APPLIANCES: .Exports of Dennis fire appliances during the past month include two M-series models to Kedah (Malay peninsula); two F6 models to Hindustan; one F26 to Bombay; two F34 models to Darwin; and two each TIP-series models to Abadan. Chittagong and Nigeria. SEMI-TRAILERS FOR CHARLES ALEXANDER: Charles Alexander and Partners (Transport) Ltd. has ordered 15 Scammell fifth-wheel, 12-ton semi-trailers, each 25 ft. 10 in. long. The order was placed through Millburn Motors Ltd.

TRUCK MIXERS FOR BOWLES: F. Bowles and Sons Ltd., Cardig, has ordered seven more A.E.C. Mammoth Major chassis through CV (Sales and Repairs) Ltd. They will be fitted with Ransome and Rapier 6-cu.-yd. concrete-mixing equipment with a front-mounted hydraulic drive.

MORE A.E.C. UNITS FOR U.T.1.C.: Uniao de Transportadores Para Importacao c Comercio Ltda, Lisbon, has ordered 10 more sets of Reliance running units to be incorporated in underfloor-engined buses and coaches of monocoque construction. AVELING-BARFORD SL270 POPULAR: More than 100 SL270 13i-ton Shuttle Dump Trucks have been ordered from AvelingBarford Ltd. during the past four months. Largest of the contracts is for 23 machines to be used on the Plover Cove tunnelling project being undertaken by Sentab Gammon (Hong Kong) Ltd.

E2M. ORDERS FOR LEYLAND SPECIAL PRODUCTS: The Special Prodticts Division of Leyland Motors Ltd. has received orders worth more than E2m. in the first two months of 1964. The orders specify more than 4,000 diesel engines as well as many heavy vehicle gearboxes and axles, and have been received from British and Continental vehicle and industrial equipment manufacturers. Most popular automotive engine is the 6.5-litre Leyland Power Plus UE 400, which has brought orders totalling 1,750. It is followed by the 61-litre UE 370 Power Plus engine, of which 1,150 units have been ordered.

ALBIONS FOR CRANES: The big demand for lorry-mounted Hydrocon cranes built by Lambert Engineering (Glasgow) Ltd., has led to a further contract with Albion Motors Ltd., who have been called upon to supply another 150 vehicles. The order includes 20 Super Reiver chassis, some of which will be converted to 6 x 6 drive, and used as the basis for a new type of Hydrocon crane. Of the remainder, 100 will be Chieftain Super Six 10-ft, 11-in, wheelbase models to carry Highlander 6-ton cranes, and 30 will be Clydesdale chassis with the new Albion crawler-splitter gearbox, to form the basis of 10-ton cranes.

TANKERS FOR FAR EAST: The Shell Co. of Malaya has ordered 18 Albion Reiver long-wheelbase chassis to be fitted with 3,000gal. tanks by Harper, Gilfillan and Co. Ltd,, of Kuala Lumpur. Five Albion Chieftain Super Six chassis have been ordered by the Burma Oil Co. (1954) Ltd.. and will be fitted with 2,000-gal. tanks by W. B. Fawn and Co. Ltd., of London.

MORE YORK TRAILERS: The following orders have recently been received by the York Trailer Co. Ltd.: B.R.S. (Contracts) Ltd., 10 Teamster platform trailers, Model EP17, tandem axle, 17-ton capacity ; RollsRoyce Ltd., one Teamster 14-ton platform trailer; Joseph Sankey Ltd., four Freight. master frameless 12-ton semi-trailer vans with automatic coupling and Freemans of London, three more Freightrnaster vans.
