AS recordedbriefly last week, recent orders for passenger chassis worth around 000,000 have been received by Leyland Motors Ltd. from British undertakings, the total number involved being 236.

The largest order is from Southdown Motor Services Ltd., who are buying 40 Leyland Titan PD3/4 (exposed radiator) double-deckers and 40 Leopard 36-ft. chassis, 20 of PSU3/3 type, and 20 PSU3/1. The Leopards will all be fitted with two-speed rear axles, whilst all chassis will have magnetic particle fan couplings.

Other orders are from Yorkshire Traction Co. Ltd. for 18 36-ft. Leopards (15 PSU3/1 and three PSU3/3), and 10 Titan PD3A1 double-deckers; Trent Motor Traction Co. Ltd., 24 36-ft. Leopards (10 PSU3/1 and 14 PSU3/3) and five 30-ft. Leopards; Yorkshire Woollen District Transport Co. Ltd., 18 36-ft. Leopards (PSU3/4 coach chassis); Gateshead and District Omnibus Co. Ltd., 17 Atlantean double-deckers; East Midland Motor Services Ltd., seven Atlanteans and nine 36-ft. Leopards (PSU3/3); Sunderland District Omnibus Co. Ltd., eight 36-ft. Leopard PSU3/3 chassis; and Tyneside Tramways and Tramroads Co. Ltd., two Atlantean double-deckers.

Municipal orders include one from Warrington Corporation for 12 special Titan PD2./4I chassis built to overall dimensions of 27 ft. by 7 ft. 6 in.; whilst Oldham Corporation has ordered 10 Atlanteans—its first rear-engined doubledeckers. Plymouth Corporation is to introduce another eight Atlanteans; Ashton-under-Lyne Corporation is buying five Titan PD2/37 (exposed radiator) double-decker chassis; and Belfast Corporation has confirmed an order for three Atlantean chassis.
