Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE driver of a mobile crane which was in collision with a Sheffield Corporation bus should have been accompanied by a mate at the time to direct traffic round the jib, Mr. Justice GlynJones said at Sheffield Assizes last week. He was giving judgment in a case in which the crane operators, Osborn Furness, Ltd., Sheffield. sought £789 I Is. 7d. damages from the corporation, and the corporation counter-claimed for £157 9s.

The judge said the bus driver should have seen the crane jib, despite the fact that no mate was employed to warn other traffic. He held that the bus driver was 75 per cent. to blame for the accident, whilst the crane driver was 25 per cent. to blame, and judgment was given on these lines.

Osborn Furness were awarded costs, hut were directed to pay £25 towards the corporation's costs.
