TRADERS would be well advised, in I the event of transport renationalization not to look for -kid-glove methods, Mr. Sydney H Jones, the Scottish divisional chairman of the Traders' Road Transport Association told members, at a meeting in Dundee. Inevitably, the Clicence holder was going to be shot at.
'Traders must not be hamstrung on the question of their own transport if they were to 'compete in their markets. The T.R.T.A.. did not seek to upset any of the "existing arrangements for the protection of the driver in the number of hours worked, or in the way members ran their veh:cles, but they were determined to fight any restriction of 'radius.
Mr. Jones also spoke of the necessity of a Tay road bridge.
