Christopher John Barber

In January Ihe CV Unit arrested 'Chris Butler' during a combined operation with Vasa at the Woolwich Ferry. 'Butler' was driving a 7.5-tanner and had no licence. "We took his fingerprints and DNA and found his real name was Christopher John Barber, also known as Thompson," says McCarrick. 'He was really quite a bad man. He had held a provisional licence and found permanent employment as a dryer.* Barber was charged with 10 offences including perverting the course of justice: no insurance; the wrong class of driving licence; and falsifying tachograph records. Due to the seriousness of his efforts to avoid custody he was remanded to Belmarsh jail and fined £1,600 at his trial.
