Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

The main feature of the Flexseat is a Spencer-Moulton Flexitor unit used to support the seat. This unit consists of a shaft, rubber-bonded in a troughlike member, capable of supporting the driver's weight and providing frictionless, non-vibratory suspension.

The main support for the seat is afforded by two large-diameter steel tubes which telescope one into the other. The Flexitor unit is bracketed to the rear of the tubular support and vertical movement of the seat is controlled by a parallelogram of arms connected between the Flexitor and the floating member. Two arms are fixed to the Flexitor shaft and the front of the seat, and another two at the bottom of the support are attached to triangular members joined to the seat frame. One of the lower linkages has an adjustable friction damper fitted at the rear. The damping effect can be varied to suit all drivers, irrespective of their weight.

A rubber bump-and-rebound stop, controlled by a handle on the off side, is adjustable through a gearbox to control the amount of free vertical movement of the seat.

Vertical adjustment of 3i-ins. is provided by the telescoping of the tubular supports and is controlled by a winding handle in front. Horizontal adjustment of 3i-ins. is afforded by pressed-steel sliding sections locked by a lever which engages in the rack holes.
