Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The Government will abolish the London Lorry Ban which restricts the free movement of LGVs in the capital at nights and weekends. The abolition will be included in the Deregulation Bill due to be announced in the next two weeks.

The ban was introduced in 1986 and is described by its director John Hale as "an environmental scheme arrived at as a result of public disquiet".

The trade associations have long been known to have reservations about the London lorry ban. The Freight Transport Association would prefer not to see the ban axed but a reduction in the paperwork involved_ The Road Haulage Association welcomes the ban's demise but has reservations about any boroughby-borough replacement.
