Described as the LG.C.C. filling valve, it comprises three main parts, which can be seen in the accompanying illustration. The base is provided with a 2-in. British Standard Pipe thread, and to it is coupled the delivery pipe, when the screwed cap is removed. The centre portion houses a non-return valve. The top is equipped with two connections, one of 2-ins diameter for the gas-bag pipe and the other of li-ins, diameter for the lead to the carburetter. Provision is made for the reversal of the threaded portion when wear becomes excessive, and the angle of the carburetter connection can be varied by removing the small screws securing the valve chamber to the base and turning the former. around. When passing gas at 2,000 cubic ft. per hour the resistance offered by this valve is only 0.25 ins. W.G.
