Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Co Durham owner-driver Clifford Whelpton, trading as CHW Transport, of Houghton le Spring, received two prohibitions notices in his first 10 months with own vehicle. However, he escaped with a warning at a Leeds disciplinary inquiry before North Eastern TC Keith Waterworth.

More vehicles

• Lockwood Haulage, of Amhergate, Derbys, had its licence authorisation increased from 60 vehicles and 140 trailers to 80 vehicles and 150 trailers after neighbouring residents withdrew objections. The company gave an assurance that its night-time activity would not increase.

Licence cut

• Maintenance problems have led Scottish TC Michael Betts to cut the authorisation on the Operator's Licence held by MacAuley Brothers, of South Hist, from four vehicles and two trailers to two vehicles and one trailer He also cut the 0licence held by MacAuley's associated company, Askernish Quarry Co, from five vehicles and two trailers to four vehicles and two trailers.

MS (Scotland)

• The court case involving Perth driver Frazer Banks and Road Movement Services (Scotland) adjourned by Macclesfield magistrates was not the result of a fatal accident, contrary to what we previously suggested. CM is happy to point this out.
