Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

"PROPOSALS for industrial innovation are heavily dependent on businesses and the Government forsaking nationalistic attitudes and taking full advantage of the internal mass market," says the European Communities Commission.

Nobody can say that British operators and foreign commercial vehicle importers are not observing that precept. If Continental and Scandinavian users were as receptive to British commercial vehicles as we are to theirs, and if perhaps British makers

were as determined as their foreign competitors, we could delve more deeply into the mass market and Britain's membership of the EEC might seem to be less of a millstone.

IN A POIGNANT letter to lain Sherriff, a public relations and sales consultant recalls that an• expert has described the following seven words as the most expressive in the English language:

(1) Most beautiful — love. (2) Most tragic — death. (3) Most revered — mother. (4) Warmest — friendship. (5) Coldest — no. (6) Most bitter — alone. (7) Saddest — forgotten.

"And that is the word that bothers us, as you have apparently forgotten to publish any of the press releases we have submitted ..." he complains.

I commend him to anyone who wishes to launch a creative marketing campaign for a patent tear-jerker or a plastic lump in the throat.
