Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

FREIGHT traffic decreased by four per cent at Dover during the first ten months of this year while passenger traffic increased by 20 per cent.

According to statistics issued by the Dover Harbour Board, 407,528 commercial units passed through the port compared with 425,267 during the same period of last year. But it is significant that the amount of cargo handled is up by nearly ten per cent and that hauliers are using vehicle space more efficiently with average loads being considerably increased.

Coach traffic increased from 46,521 to 58,337 over the same ten-month period while over ten million people used the port compared, with 8.4m for the same period of last year.

The drop of 36 per cent in "other" retro freight is mainly due to the reduced number of cars currently being imported to the UK.
